Hi, I'm Jaliyla Fraser

The DOPE MATH® Educator

I am a math educator, textbook editor, curriculum developer, math professor, high-quality material reviewer, speaker, and the founder of Fraser’s Mathematics Solutions (FMS), where I empower educators, families, and students to unlock their full potential in math. As a seasoned educator with over a decade of experience, I've helped hundreds of teachers, schools, and school districts create impactful, equity-driven math programs.

 

Beginning my career as a high school math and physics teacher, where my students consistently outperformed school, district, and state scores, I was promoted to district Math Supervisor after just 5 years in the classroom. Within my 8 year tenure as the supervisor, I redeveloped the entire curriculum, brought in new instructional ideas and resources for the math program, and provided continuous support to over 120 math teachers and TA's across 9 schools, all while teaching college Algebra at Rutgers, Newark. Because of my work within the district, I was invited to join the inaugural New Jersey Department of Education Computer Science Advisory Board in 2020 to help design the first iteration of computer science policy.
 

As the CEO of FMS, my team and I have provided professional development, job-embedded coaching, and culturally relevant programs to over 55 schools, 15 school districts, 485 math educators, 145 families, and 1260 students across the country, through my one of a kind DOPE MATH® Institutes and Culture Programs

 

My advocacy work for educational equity and inclusivity has led to numerous partnerships with educational organizations and key stakeholders nationwide. I've co-authored national math guidance documents like the 2020 - 21 Support for Instructional Content Prioritization in High School Mathematics to support districts post COVID, in partnership with Student Achievement Partners, led a team of writers to develop coherent and culturally relevant math lessons for the Humanizing Mathematics PK-5 series, with Open Up Resources, and created resources like the DOPE MATH® Notebook, to inspire confidence in students and families. 

 

My goal is to continue expanding impact through the Fraser’s Mathematics Solutions community, helping educators build innovative, student-centered math education programs and helping teachers grow their careers.

Yes! During the live sessions, attendees will have opportunities to ask questions and receive direct support from Jaliyla Fraser, an experienced curriculum developer. Additionally, participants will be guided in refining their curriculum drafts to ensure they are classroom-ready and aligned with best practices.

3. What opportunities can curriculum writing create?

Curriculum writing opens doors to roles in publishing, ed-tech, consulting, and district-level curriculum teams. Many educators transition into curriculum writing as freelancers, full-time developers, or specialists within their schools and districts. This academy helps educators understand these pathways and prepare for them.

4. Will participants leave with a completed curriculum piece?

Yes! By the end of the academy, attendees will have a structured, high-quality curriculum piece they can use in their teaching practice, include in a professional portfolio, or present to potential employers.

5. Do participants receive a PD certificate?

Yes, all attendees will receive a Professional Development Certificate upon completion of the academy, recognizing their growth in curriculum development.

6. Will participants have access to recordings and resources?

Absolutely! All registrants will receive access to session recordings, worksheets, templates, and additional curriculum writing resources to support their learning and continued growth.

7. What is the DOPE MATH® Educator Online Community?

This exclusive community provides ongoing support, networking, and professional development opportunities. Participants will have access to expert insights, job leads in curriculum writing, and peer collaboration to continue refining their skills.

8. How long will participants have access to the online community?

Enrollment includes access to the DOPE MATH® Educator Online Community for a full year, allowing participants to stay connected, receive updates, and continue learning beyond the academy.

9. Can participants get a refund if they can’t attend?

Please note that all registrations are final, and refunds are not available. However, participants will still receive access to recordings and all resources if they are unable to attend live.
