Our Services

Dope Math Institutes

We use research-based practices and job-embedded coaching to provide school and district leaders, math coaches, math teachers, substitutes, and parents with actionable touchpoints on how to support their students as they become champions in mathematics.

We extend content and pedagogical capacity, improve instructional practices, and transform mathematical mindsets.

Math Principal Institute (MPI)

The Math Principal Institute creates a lane to provide principals, assistant principals, and district leaders with actionable touch points on how to support their math teachers in more productive ways.  Math educators play a valuable role in ensuring high student achievement and student mastery of deep mathematical knowledge.  Much of the time, though, they feel like they are on an island on their own, with everyone expecting for them to be the “sole math savior” for students.  This institute will support leaders in raising their depth of knowledge and confidence in mathematics so that they can take the necessary steps to better support high-quality teaching and learning in mathematics.

Math Coach Institute (MCI)

Building and sustaining the capacity of a Math Coach is one of the most important investments that a school can make to increase student achievement. During this institute, math coaches, in close partnership with their building leaders, will learn how to support their teachers using the FMS Coaching Cycle Framework. Through this design, math coaches will learn high-leverage techniques to coach “heavy” or “light”, which will improve math teaching and learning for all students.

Math Teacher Institute (MTI)

This institute provides teachers with actionable touch points on how to best provide their students with compelling, fun, relevant, rigorous, and supportive mathematics instruction. We equip teachers with the knowledge and confidence to employ the most effective teaching practices to ensure their students learn grade-level standards while also inculcating positive math identities among them. Through interactive professional development sessions, teachers learn how to use precise mathematical language and questioning techniques to drive student discourse, techniques for improving engagement, and how to ensure students can apply their  knowledge to solve real-world problems.

Math Substitute Institute (MSI)

During this “great resignation,” teachers are leaving the educational profession in large numbers. As school districts hire a large number of substitutes and retired professionals, it is necessary for school leadership to establish a plan on how to support these professionals. The Math Substitute Institute will provide substitute math teachers with ongoing support, tools, and math content knowledge to ensure students have a full math experience.

Math Institute for Parents (MIP)

It is critical that parents have the tools they need to support their students. Beyond spending hours at the kitchen table practicing the same math problems with their child, there are a number of effective and practical approaches that parents can use to support their children’s math education. This institute will provide families with the tools and frameworks necessary to engage their children in critical thinking while helping them to promote a positive mathematical mindset. We show parents how to make math fun and engaging to ensure that their child is prepared to problem-solve and apprehend new concepts, regardless of their learning style.

Dope Math Culture Programs

Math Tutoring
STEAM & Coding Programs

To address various learning challenges and foster access to math, S.T.E.A.M and coding programs, we tailor after-school and summer programs based on school/district needs and student data. Our customized curriculum and experiences aim to strengthen students’ foundational skills and provide exposure to diverse learning opportunities. By the program's conclusion, students emerge with increased confidence in their abilities and improved proficiency across multiple subject areas.

Women in STEM Panels

While people of color and women make up 31% and 47% of the labor force in the United States respectively, they only comprise 16% and 27% of careers that require a command of mathematics and computational thinking. By the 8th grade, students, especially those of color and girls, lose interest and feel less confident in mathematics because of social stereotypes and their own fear of making mistakes.  The Women In STEM Panel will provide a platform for students to see and speak with women who are excelling in their STEM careers so we can continue to create a pipeline.

A Dope Math Culture Tour

An exhilarating math assembly experience that ignites students' passion for mathematics and fosters resilience. We combine an interactive presentation, inspiring stories, and hands-on activities that captivate students' imaginations. Each student receives their own Dope Math Notebook, filled with illuminating math tips and empowering messages, while 15 lucky students receive their notebooks personally autographed by the CEO.

Math Curriculum Writing

Our math curriculum writing options are designed to support 4 types of school and district needs from advising to creating, editing, and staff training.
